Does your philosophy fit your situation?

Your ability to lead your team or program depends on your ability to sell your vision and your philosophy.

You are your own person and you have to have a philosophy that is yours.

College coaches have things a lot easier than youth coaches.  They can choose who is on their team and who isn’t. They have the opportunity to recruit players who fit their philosophy. Even coaches who don’t have scholarships have thousands of players to choose from to find the ones that fit their philosophy.

Your system and your philosophy are two different things.  I think you can have the one philosophy with different systems just like you can have one system with different philosophies. It’s all about what you emphasize.

But it is so important to have a philosophy that you believe in and that you can hold everyone in your program accountable to.
